Clarke Associates guards its own anonymity and its client's confidentiality jealously. The firm has never publicised its involvement with any client, has never claimed advisor status for completed deals and studiously avoids all media attention. Business is generated, for the most part, by referral or by chance meeting with prospective new clients as a course of work undertaken. The firm's ability to produce opportunities for its clients is dependent upon its ability to gather confidential information from many willing sources and react upon the same quickly. All clients are guaranteed that their business will be conducted in strictest confidence.

The firm works on a fee basis; daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly etc. Fees are negotiable and are normally determined by the extent of services required and the estimated duration of the consultancy. A fee, once agreed, will not determine the length of time expended on any particular task, the firm will continue to work on behalf of the client until such time as the brief has been completed. Expenses incurred are also re-charged to the client at cost and at a level pre-agreed between the firm and the client. For acquisitions: The firm generally charges a negotiable success fee which is not linked to the value of the deal but pre-determined with the client encouraging acquisitions at 'best price'.

The firm has successfully concluded business and acquisitions for its clients in : United Kingdom, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Spain, Canada, U.S.A., Mexico and Hong Kong. The firm specialises in the U.S. and European advertising markets.
